A while back I got GB-Modelli's kit 72029 from Black Lion Decals. This kit is the mobile version. Unfortunately, I wanted to build this gun in a firing position, so it meant I had to scratchbuild a lot of parts myself...

Thank you gentlemen!

@Stefan: Is this so you can put it next to your 149 A Gun? smile I have been admiring your work for quite some time now:

If you are going to build this one, I suggest doing a lot of dry-runs before using glue. The fit can be tricky. My kit was slightly bent and suffered from mould misalignment, but the second one I have is fine...

The upper base is scratch built. The base plates and the wheels of the gun are casts of the GB-modelli kit 72035 Cannone da 254/40 su affusto De Stefano.

The rocks are resin casts of Woodland Scenics moulds. The gaps are filled in with left over resin stumps and about 10 quits worth of putty... smile

The rocks are painted in the base colour white.

After that the rocks are washed in grey, yellow, green and orange-brown, all by Vallejo. The final touch is dry-brushing in white.

The figures are a mix of GB-Modelli, Preiser and Hät. The replacement heads are from Mimairons.

The wood for the base is painted as per Vallejo Old and New Wood, ground soil is earth paste, also from Vallejo.

The crane, pully system, shell and narrow gauge rail car are also scratch-build...

And after the obligatory Tamiya Buff air brushing, grass is added. I used grass from Bush and Noch in different lengths and different colours, mostly light colours to give the impression of dry grass. It was applied with a Noch Grassmaster...

Before building this one, I will prefer a other version of it in "Obice 305/17 su affusto Garrone". It is a long time ago I created the 149A... ;)

I also ordered decals for this gun. We will see. So there a lot of other projects. In the moment I have a lot of work by creating a Krupp 21cm Mörser in scale 1/72. The Mörser is finished and now I´m creating the diorama...

Hi Stefan,

The Obice 305/17 su affusto Garrone is also a very nice gun. I haven't had the chance to buy this one (yet!) smile

So the 21cm Mörser will be your next project? Will you use the Strelets kit? This one will take a lot of work to turn it into a decent representation of the gun... Very nice gun crew though...

With kind regards,

-Arie.

Yes, it is really a very nice kit...

I use Mark Browns MBM kit of 21cm Mörser. You have to put much more details on it, so you have a lot of work too, but it is done and I like the result very much…

In the moment I have many problems to present pictures of it in this forum. My old image-provider is out of order and I have not found a new good provider until yet. So you can only see some pictures of this Mörser on FB now…

@Danny: Thanks!

@Stefan: I had never heard of MBM models. I had a quick look at his site, and the conclusion is; it will cost me a lot of money... smile
