I having some trouble locating large ammounts of infomation on Great War flamethrowers. Some example of these are the Austro Hungarian M.16, French Schilt, and some German flamethrowers. If you have any info on any Great War Flamethrower then please share. I'll keep looking and give you what I find.

The first guy basically goes on to talk about how the modern flamethrower came to be. Apparently, as ironic as it is, firemen were one of the first MODERN flamethrower teams. The rest of it basically explains that the flamethrower was terrifying and difficult to use sometimes taking three people to operate, one for the direct fire, the second for the hose and third for the valves. Also the range of Great War flamethrowers was included in there. It was not specific but it helps. Also great pictures

To my knowledge there were 3 sorts of German flamethrowers:
The "Kleif" - kleiner Flammenwerfer (small flamethrower), the "Grof" - großer Flammenwerfer (big flamethrower) and the "Wex" (M.1917).
I have read about in a book, but I can't remember any details yet. I will look for further informations and post it. In addition one picture of the "Wex" beeing used by the Freikops in Berlin against the "Stürmer"-Buliding, I guess.
(By the way: your last postet picture, trenchfoot, is this "Kleif", a two-man-weapon.)
