US Army mobile workshop trailer
Permalink

Does anybody have pictures of the WW1 US Army mobile workshop trailer? Poor pictures of them exist in the FWD article in Old Motor magazine and in "America Car and Foundry" company history (as they built some of them). The reason being is that this trailer has turned up in the USA and i wonder if anybody can identify it.

My initial thought was that it might be military and the only thing i could think of was the workshop trailer - but of course it might be something entirely different probably agricultural.

Thanks

Hi Tim, there is a complete manual here for the Artillery repair truck it has everything in detail for this vehicle (FWD/NASH chassis) although I cant recall a trailer but it may be of some use .......

Thanks for that. That is very interesting. There is an FWD in Texas which appears to have a metal workshop type body on it, but sadly no tools.

Anyway, here is a poor scan of a workshop trailer behind an FWD.

I recently (January 2015) I donated a 4 ton WW-I US Army trailer to US Army Transportation Museum, Ft. Lee, VA
