French and German Tank Actions

I was wondering if anyone knew of any books or articles that talk about the French and German tank actions.  Everywhere I look all I can find is usually just British.

Thanks

Good point there: there is an obvious lack of info on French and German Tank action. ut there is some to be had:

1. "Tanks and Trenches", ed. David Fletcher, also contains a French section.

2. Hundleby & Strasheims classic "The German A7V Tank" has a good coverage of German Tank action, including their frequent useage of captured Mk IV's.

I'll see if I can find some more as well!

There are the two books on the French tanks that are reviewed on this site, Mangin Sauve Paris and Les Chars de la Victoire 1918, which are (unfortunately for me) in French. Great pictures, though.

Yes, those two French books are fine, though they are not exclusively on Tank Action. Excellent picture material. As mentioned: reviewed here.

And if you read German, and prepared to ferret around, try getting "Kriegslehren in Beispielen aus dem Weltkrieg" Vol 3, from 1925. It contains a 50+ page summary and discussion of all important German Tank actions during the German Offensives of 1918. Hundleby & Strasheim used this one a lot.

hmm... ya it is very hard to find this stuff, but in one book i have (its from salamander books and i belive is unfortunatly out of print, i found it at an antique mall) called "land power" which has a good 8 pages about frances tank force and lemme see *scrounges around* and some stuff on villers-bretonneux, and the sambre crossings (side note, and somewhat off topic the picture marking the begining of that section shows what is obviously a US m1918 with the distinctive gun sheild and triangular sections on either side of the drivers vision port.) but there should be something on the net somewhere. i would be interested in the acctual tactics of early tank warfare theory, i suppose fuller would be the best place to look for that. (and peter, i love this new forum, good job :D )
