Hi Everyone,

I am looking for details on the Ford -T used by the MMGS, I have the RPM kit and am wondering how accurate it is. Are there any web-sites or books that will be of use to me.

  TIA

The ford t kits are decent nicely done kits that are a great base to do more detailed view

I have not build the MMGS Ford t yet
but Ive built the Ford t lorry
and the polish TFC Ford armored car
i have built the 1/35 version which you can see a review of on this wonderful site!
there is also a photo etch set that is really nice for the kit, its hard to find though and i am not sure if there is a 1/35 version of it

also the MMGS were extensively used in palestine
and here are some model pics of a finished model

Hello

I too am interested in the Ford T used during the Great War, Mr.David Fletcher's {War Cars  British Armoured Cars in the First World War} is a good source for some information on this subject. Also check out the following links, they will provide you with some good pictures of these vehicles used by the Australian forces.

2.Australian War Memorial, This is a great site on information about the First World War. On the right of the screen, click on {SEARCH OUR COLLECTION} it's very simple after that, just pick your years, which war, and type in Ford T.

Hope this helps.

By the way, I have not built the RPM kits, I like scratch building my Ford's by using the old Pyro kits as my base model, they are extremely accurate.

Good Luck

All the Best

I have one of the RPM 1/35 MG Fords, and it seems ok, but not in the same league as the Resicast Ford ambulance (particularly on the handling of the undercarriage, which is something that I may lay disproportionate stress on, I guess).

Of course Resicast's models are much more expensive, so there you have it.

Hi,

The only picture I had seen was  of a British vehicle, but I think they were only used in very limited numbers in France, but having looked at the various links provided I must have a go at an Aussie version in Palestine.    Many Thanks for your assistance.

Paul
