Ordered a pair of Mark IV Females and
Permalink Closed

Hi all

I ordered a pair of Mark IV Females (1/72) and was working around a diorama idea in my head. I was thinking of showing a pair of Beutepanzers advancing in conjunction with infantry. Couple of questions:

1. Are there any pictures of this or descriptions of how they were used by the Germans tactically in conjunction with infantry?

2. Best source of infantry figures in this scale and time period (early 1918)?

thanks - Joel

Hello Joel

I would think your best source of Beutepanzer information at this time is {The German A7V Tank by Hundleby & Strasheim}. I am in the process with a friend of mine (Eugene), planning a book on the Complete History of German WW1 Beutepanzers. I can post some pictures if you would like. I have attached a Beutepanzer being used in Berlin during the Spartikist Revolt, with some troops.

I have looked through the Hundleby & Strasheim and there is no actual pictures of beutepanzers being used in conjunction with troops, they are basically destroyed, or being run through tests.

But they are still quite cool!!!!

All the Best

Joel!

When it comes to late-war German figures, both EMHAR and HÄT has issued nice sets! You have a good variety there.
