Anyone explain this? Caption says 1914, and nothing else.

Three solo bicycles, with a towbar connecting the rear two. A bit of extra muscle power for hills & rough(er!) going.

I don't know about the later years, but certainly at the start of the war there were cyclist companies, which I think were meant for rapid deployment? (rapid compared with footsoldiers)

Presumably they would require something to fight with, and given the weight of a heavy MG and mounting, it would need the three of them to tow it, especially when hills were encountered.

I suspect though, that James may be looking for where they are and what (other than the obvious ) they are up to?
