This may have been a source of puzzlement and/or angst to some members ...

Just recently the forum "spam protection" feature seems to have decided that some posts submitted with two or more "clickable" links might be spam.  When it does that, it flags the post as "SPAM COMMENT" and renders it invisible to all but moderators (and administrators), pending their approval.  This is NOT a reflection on the links themselves - I can see no URI/URL reputation issues on those occasions that it has occurred.

Clickable links are like http://example.com

Non-clickable links are like http://example.com which can be made clickable if the author uses the "Insert/edit link" tool (the chain icon) or manually  inserts BB Code URL tags (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBCode and look for the text "url").  Also note that few forums implement ALL of the codes seen in that reference, just in case you might wonder ... but that one (and many others) work "here".

Posts will also be hidden as "PENDING COMMENT" if you are not logged in when the post is submitted.  As well as maybe forgetting to log in, this can happen if your internet connection drops/times out then re-establishes while you are composing the post or if the forum times your session out while you are composing.  The two hidden post situations might even be related - though in either case there should be a specific warning notice about the post requiring approval and, in the "PENDING COMMENT" case, the posting author should be shown as "anonymous".

In any case - and I assume it is the same for PDA - we have no access to any log or digest of such posts requiring approval.  So I/we could use your assistance to assist you.  If you are warned (or notice) that your post has been hidden, if I am given a nudge by Personal Message (mentioning the forum section and date posted) then I can fix it.  Or, hopefully, PDA could do the same.

If you can't wait and post again (and the new post is accepted without being restricted), let's still know about the hidden one(s) so we can delete them - parsimony does matter with forums.

Yes, it is the same for me and, yes, I do the same. smile

I have found a few accidentally, and deleted them because they were years old and no longer useful or relevant. And once or twice a forum member has contacted me to help get a post posted.

It'd be good if there was a location that they all went to, but there isn't as far as I can tell.

I think the moderator control panel (there's always a moderator control panel) might have the logs of pending posts and the like. But of course we have no access.

In the meantime, it seems you've looked at posts without replies and unfrozen those half dozen or so recent ones that were caught up? Brilliant, why didn't I think of it? Don't know how many times I've trawled the pages, looking for problems, without thinking of that. Thanks!

No need, Sir. We're a team.
