Holt, who goes there?

Well after starting my first armoured Holt 10 ton and then finding the dimensions were a little off here's progress on the "take two" now based on factory data.

Great stuff, Bern. How do you work so neatly?

Well now the flying Elephant master is finished and the moulds are underway it's time to get back on with this. I spent a couple of hours yesterday evening making 16 1/72 hinges.

Time to get back on with the poor old neglected Holt. There's a bit more detail on the engine cover, bogies and a cross member to tie the track units together.

Amazing work, well done. How did you make the drive sprocket and idler?

Thanks TeeELL.

The center of the drive sprocket and the idler are resin copies from a master I made from sheet styrene a while ago for my Renault FB:

http://www.landships.net/t47193625/whats-on-mrxs-work-bench/

The master was cut out with an Olfa compass cutter and the spokes were knife & forked out with a sharp scalpel and needle files, the lip on the rim was made from stretched sprue heat formed around a hobby knife handle (I think) and stretched sprue was used again for the spoke ribs... I bet you wished you'd never asked now wink

Yep, you sure are right. However it is always good to learn new techniques so thank you for that.

I think due to its extreme fiddlyness the poor old Holt keeps getting pushed to the back of the queue and every now and then it resurfaces for a small amount of progress... I'd love to say that's all going to change and I'll crack on with it until it's finished but I'm sure I'll hit another snag and put it back in the box until I feel inspired to get on with it again! However we have made some progress so it's slowly creeping towards a final completion.

The track units are more or less finished now, these were super fiddly and some of the parts took a lot of thinking about how I'd be able to mould them.
