Re postage costs to UK, I am sure you are aware it may not be such a bargain as it seems, and in particular that the situation has changed. In the old days, there was a very good chance of the parcel being ignored by Customs, but those days are plainly over (this is a family and non-political site so I won't speculate why).

I find that HMRC are now much more rigorous in applying VAT to parcels from outside the EU, including P & P. This takes the quoted price up to 46.88, and then Royal Mail charge (usually) a flat rate £16 on top of that for handling parcels caught by HMRC- so that's over £60 when the kit can be ordered from Inside the Armour for £40 plus about £5 postage in the UK.

I won't go into the subtleties of ordering more stuff in one go to spread the £16 without being caught by the imposition of import duty (though the hlj.com system is useful) - suffice it to say that HMRC have, over the last 2 years or so, been much more aggressive in stopping parcels.

I now do my sums before ordering from the Far East. I find I now do it only when there is a really big difference in price, which is the case for Tamiya at the moment (so, if they ever get round to doing those rhomboids, I will probably be putting in an early order), or the kit is unlikely to be reliably available in the UK before it sells out, which is the case for Fine Molds and Pit-Road.

Fortunately thin stuff like etched metal an d transfers gets through OK - for now.
