Not tanks, but tracks ... but what is it?

Dear all,

I am not realy sure if this is the right section. I just received this picture. In fact this is no tank, but tracks and ... obviously German. But what is it? Anyone a clue?

Regards

Chris

Looks to me like a tracked trailer - tracked to spread the weight better on soft ground. The long I-beam sticking out to the left is probably hitched to some form of tractor.

Hey Guys

No it's not German, actually it's American used by the Russians. It is a chassie of a Allis-Chalmers half track truck used the Russians to build Heavy tracked armored cars. Here is a good link with some information.

I think this is a Lombard Tractor Truck Chassis... 1916-17

flipped the patent and enlarged and sharpened the original photo image to compare..

See this previous thread Lombard, Track, Halftracks Patents and drawings

Added enhanced Image of the Lombard tracks pic has been flipped, originally posted by Ivan.
