I can't edit or delete any posts, any idea why?

You should be able to edit your own posts. I'm not sure about deleting them though. May be an issue with your browser, the configuration settings. What browser(s) are you using? Are you able to see "Edit Post" and "Delete Post" options under the "More" tab? Are you able to log in using another computer, smart phone, tablet or iPad? If you can and the behaviour is different that would be a start to sorting it out. I can see that Java is not required but there may be a JavaScript or some other scripting requirement (are any members reading this using a NoScript extension?). Flamin' computers! I remember when they used to do what you told them.

I can click on the option to edit a post, and the post appears and changes can be made.

However when I try to submit the new edited post, I simply end up looking at the original post and no changes have been made.

When I try to delete a post I get a message saying I've not got permission.

You cannot delete posts. Moderators can do that.

You should be able to edit up to a certain time limit. I can't recall what that time limit is; could be 24hrs or a week or so. If you're within that time limit and you still can't edit then I've no clue what the issue is.

Oh right, I didn't realise there was a time limit on editing. Bit odd that, what's the reason?

No idea. I'm just working with what we have.

It's an anti-trolling measure that most forums use - prevents trolls from editing their posts after people have responded. The time can be set

- it's usually a couple of hours.

Charlie
