A7V Gretchen in Belgium?

There is a photo of Gretchen allegedly in a place called Sainte Cecile. The location turns out to be in southern Belgium, not very near anywhere, and well behind the Armistice line. Now there's a claim that she was "lost" there. I can't see that she was lost in action there - it's nearly in Luxembourg - but she does look abandoned, with m.g.s removed, etc.

Anyone know the story of her fate? Did she really end up in Sainte Cecile?

Apparently so..

Rainer Strasheim says in the Tankograd A7V book (p.56):

"- Detailed to Sachy Training Ground near Sedan for the making of a movie about the defensive battle until 23 October 1918

- Abandoned at the railway station in Saint-Cécile in Belgium, approximately 5km east of Sachy

- Believed to have been scrapped right there"

Regards,

Charlie

Oh, dear. I never thought to look it up. Thank you, Charlie. I must confess I had never noticed that before.

Shall amend "lost" to "abandoned."

Wouldn't mind finding out more about the film.
