Had a request to try for an ident on the tractor in the attached images - anyone?

Definitely WW1, possibly on the Eastern Front.

The first picture appears in 'Motor Traction' on 19 May 1915 with the caption: A three-wheeled, high-powered petrol motor tractor which is being used for drawing heavy loads over the difficult roads in Poland. By means of the winding drum over the front wheel and a rope anchored at a distance, the tractor can haul itself out of boggy places, or up steep gradients.

I did find the answer in an old thread on the forum. It's a Lanz heavy agricultural tractor. They were used in 3-wheel form early in WW1 and rebuilt as

4-wheel drive machines later in the war.

Regards,

Charlie

The second photo is indeed a Dreirad-Lanz-Bensolmotor-Tracktor, I often confuse it with the Daimler Dreirad.  According to my data, Lanz delivered 23 of them.   The first pic, however, remains a mystery; no idea what it is.
