Decals for WW1 AFVs
Permalink

Hello everyone!

I already wrote that developing decals for AFW model kits and has produced two sets for Master Box Mk.I kits in 1/72.

I would like to continue the theme of the First World War. If you have suggestions for interesting prototype, please post here. Preferably with pictures and additional materials. This refers for 1/35 and 1/72 scales both.

I'm planning to make next sets for Mk.IV - V and Whippets. Then French and German tanks.

Unfortunately, this is not a quick process. Usually it takes about 6 months completely. But I promise that if we started to work, the result is bound to be.

Our website ddecal.ru.com

It's designed especially for our foreign friends. However, we know that there are many mistakes in the English language. Please do not be strict. And write please if you can advise how to correct these mistakes.

Hi,

Great news that you are enlarging your range. with the whippet are you also including both the red and white Russian armies?

I might have misread the postage information on your site but what is the cost for postage to the UK?

Thanks

Hello! Of course, both Red and White Russian army Whippets will be on the decals.

Shipping cost for UK is same as for EU - 3 Euro

Hello to all!

We have prepared for printing a new decal in 1/72 - Mk.II for Master Box.

I need your advice - maybe I forgot that something interesting and it may be added to decal?

Your Mk.I decals were fantastic and the Mk.II decals look great too they really will be needed for the Masterbox kit as they don't supply any... so how about some for the Mk.IV next smile

Can we have some for Julian the fundraising tank in Britain please? (There seem to have been two slightly different variants of the painted inscription, if I remember rightly.)

Oh, thank you! There is pictures of C51, which I had not seen before. But main trouble for C51 - Insufficient a clear image of a figure on the hull right side. But I hope that I will find it someday.

I promise that I will consider your wishes at work.

I have seen a clearer picture of the figure on C51 somewhere on the net but can't remember where, if I come across it again I'll post a link.

So how about C24 Crusty or C47 Conqueror?

C23 would be an interesting subject especially for the figure. looking at David Fletchers' book on the MkIV C4 also has the lines on the sponson. For those who want to do a conversion which is   really different there is thye Royal Navys' Excellent of 1940.

Here's a challenge for you: Mephisto after her capture by Australians.

If you could do this in 1/35, that would be just awesome!

cheers,

bj

Hi brad! Of course, I can draw a decal. But considering its size, number of colors and a very small print run (no more than 10 pieces), I am even afraid to assume its cost))).

In addition, there is no clarity with colors patterns. I'm going to have to be based on assumptions.

G'day Denis,

Oh I never said it was going to be easy!!

Actually, here is a site for you to give you some more ideas for it:

http://www.diorama1914.com/Pagina%20definitiva/galeria/Mephisto.htm

As to a short run, with respect, I would think that the Australian War Memorial, where Mephisto will be housed for the next two years, and the Queensland Museum, where it is usually housed, would be more than happy to sell the decal sheets along with the kits and books they already sell on her.

Cheers,

bj

Apropos references: The unit's color patch was a diamond divided horizontally into purple (top) and light blue (bottom)
Cheers, Peter

G'day Denis,

Actually, someone has already beaten you to it (see attached)!

Only problem is, I don't think the red over white colour patch is correct.

cheers,

bj

I have since been in touch with the makers of this decal and, to their absolute credit,  they have updated the colour patch as below to purple over light blue.

I think I might get this one - the tough part would be modelling the tank with the damage.

cheers,

bj

I'm sorry for delay. Of course, 1/72 will be too, but only after three or four sets in 1/35. It's technical features.

I'll be looking out for the 1/72 decals when they're available especially if there's going to be a C47... I'd already started doing this one but hadn't got as far as the lettering for the name or the artwork on the tail.

Thanks Denis that's very kind of you but don't worry I'm not in a rush for them so can wait until the completed sheet is released... my Mk.IV female has been under construction for over two years so a few more weeks or months won't be a problem!

Some days ago I contacted ddecal.ru asking some information about their MkII decals (now stated as "in printing") for my in-progress model.
I had no answer.

Pierantonio, you might have used the wrong link. The one in your post goes to something I don't recognise/seems dead.

www.ddecal.ru.com/ is still working as far as I can tell.

Would be nice if someone could produce generic numbers and letters so that we could number any machine we wanted to.
