This model was inspired by this picture http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205238197 of an engine stuck on a wooden road.

The Engine was scratch built. The figures are conversions from the Master Box range.

Love the model and the little story it tells, great work!

Seeing your model made me go hunt for some photos I took a few years ago now. I was at Burseldon Brickworks with some friends, when some traction engines turned up. OK the one I liked most was a steamroller rather than a traction engine... but the rough state it was in was brilliant. :)  I think I saw it now all clean and tidy on their website.  no

I came across one in a garden in Madeira last week.

Amazing where they turn up.

Although an unusual size, especially for this forum, many years ago Bandai produced a 1/16 scale Garrett 4CD Tractor (in showman's guise) based on a 1919 produced engine, it could be used to build a 1918 version as shipped to France for artillery haulage. The model is no longer available new but can still be found on eBay in the UK.

An interesting project for someone?

Would love to get some! Looks like saw someone selling that Bandai Garrett 4CD Tractor on some forum but not this one. I did want to find some pictures and go here but none looks to be available.

I recommend southeast finescales 1/32 traction engine looks good in WD colours and a bit of artistic licence.

Hi there ph0t0art

I was wondering if you might be able to give some general information on what you think would need to be done to convert the Bandai 1/16 Garrett 4CD tractor kit to a 1918 version – it sounds like an interesting project but, not being familiar with these vehicles, I’ve not been able to get a clear idea on what is required. Any hints would be most gratefully received!

Thanks and best regards

Mike
