"Men, Ideas, and Tanks" seems to be available.

In an idle moment I googled the above, expecting the usual "out of print" result. To my surprise, it seems that new copies are available. That's the way it looks. I've just ordered a new copy for £15, so we'll see what happens.

It's published by Manchester University Press. You might recall that I asked them some time ago if they would consider a re-issue, because it has been very scarce for many years. They just said, "Perhaps." I'll send them a message asking what's going on.

In the meantime, the allegedly new copies are here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/0719048141/ref=tmm_pap_new_olp_sr?ie=UTF8&condition=new&qid=&sr=

Why? Because it tells the story of the development of British tanks from 1914 to 1939, the same period covered by A New Excalibur. It's pretty good, from what I've read online: https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=00myJhLVIUUC&pg=PA79&source=gbs_toc_r&cad=2#v=onepage&q&f=false

As it happens, I received this email just a few minutes ago:

Yes, we have recently reprinted Men, Ideas and Tanks. Details of the title are in the following link: http://www.manchesteruniversitypress.co.uk/cgi-bin/indexer?product=9780719048142

If anyone visits other relevant forums, they might like to pass the news on. A definite bonus is that its rarity value has been greatly reduced, and it's now available for 10% of what was being asked for it previously.

Amongst other things, the author claims that Tennyson d,Eyncourt played a considerable part in the choice of Cambrai as the best place for a tank attack. Its an excellent read.
