Hello

Finally I managed to finish my research on "Hedi". I have examined closely all the sexteen (!) pics that are known up to this day. Now the result of this long-lasting work is available in form of the most accurate  3-view drawings in 1/35 Scale.

More then twenty revisions have been necessary until everything matched. Many thanks at this point to madzeppelin and elbavaro!

And yes, I must say, that there are some details which could not be clarified, as there is no photo from above existing, i.e. the arrangement of some of the the rivets. All other views are representet to the best of my knowledge down to the last detail.

Here  some sample views:

After having worked hard on that plans for more then a year now, I decided not to post them on the web. In case of interest the sheets are available for 10€ directly from me. Drop me a note [Industrialheritageinscale(at)gmx.ch] and I will send you the sheets as soon as possible per email (pdf.)

Important note: All the sheets are covered with small copymarks, but these do not hide any detail!

Regards, Peter

Yes, I have examined sexteen pics, most of them I found on the web. Here an overview:

The sticking-point actually lies in those three photos (made unrecognisable) I got from a befriended collector. They were a huge help, as they are originals from descendants of a KoKampf member, BUT ... I promised not to make them public!

I picked up a set of drawings from Peter, and as far as I can see they are as detailed as i have ever seen of any A7V tank. Peter you have done a great job !. Thank you.

Thanks a lot for your positive feedback, Ned!

As a hard-core nitpicker my modelling subjects always become long-term projects - unfortunately. Some of you may remember my 1/25 scale A7V adventure, which required more then ten years of researching and modeling. Regarding this "A7V Hedi" plans I was facing the same problem - I finished it too late to be of real interests for any manufacturer.

I wrote it before: There are some details which could not be clarified (no photo from above has been unearthed up to this day). But all views are represented to the best of my knowledge down to the last rivet!

In all other cases (top view), close examination of surviving examples of armoured vehicles from the same period, i.e. the Strv m 21-29, contributed a lot to the understandig of contemporary manufacturing technology - BUT, to remain correct, the top view is partially my own interpretation ...

Regards,

Peter

Peter, you did what you could.

Remember this vehicle is almost 97 years old, and it's amazing that any pictures have survived and are still view able at all.

Keep up the good work, and if I may suggest anything, try to find any relatives of the people that were alive at that time,

that were involved with the Hedi (Freikorps) at that time. This is easier said then done, but who knows, anything is possible.

N.
