The Germans heard the British were building Landships in WW1 so they thought they would design one as well.

That is the turret of a sdkfz 232 sticking out above that strange build. Should it look like a submarine or plane with those little wings at the side?
It must be something from the 30's given the sdkfz 232 in the picture.
Strange how they made such "things" and drove around with them.

I remember reading about a real-life wheeled vehicle equipped with a ship's sail that was built centuries ago, before steam engines were invented.  It reportedly went through the streets of a city, and the people inside the vehicle had trouble controlling it.
