I know of the 1st Tank vs Tank encounter (Mk.IV vs A7V) but was there ever a French tank vs German tank ? (even a Beutepanzer,) encounter ?  If so when / where / What ?

Still no. There were only 4 tank vs tank encounters during WW1, all were British vs German. First two on 24th April 1918 at Villers-Bretonneux (Mk IVs vs A7V, later A7V vs Whippets), last two on 8th October 1918 at Niergnies and Seranvillers (Mk IVs vs captured Mark IVs).
