Tatra TL4 4-tonne truck coming from MMK
Permalink

MMK are working on a Tatra TL-4 4-tonne truck in 1/35.  From the little I can discover, this truck was used by the Austro-Hungarian and potentially also German armies in WW1.

For those interested in modeling the TL-4 from scratch, the wheelbase was 130.8 inches, tire size 32.3x4.7 inches with 6-spokes on the front wheels and 8 on the rea (dual).

I've bought the model even not built yet.
The parts look good at first view.

The point is I'm not sure it was really built during the war but shortly after 1918.
I a bit in trouble to find information!

As far as I know, Tatra was founded in 1924. It was a merge from teh companies Nesselsdorfer and Ringhoffer.

Nesselsdorfer biult the first truck in1898. Ringhoffer didn't built trucks.

Regarding to Wikipedia the (Nesselsdorfer) TL-4 seems to be built from 1915 - 1924.

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nesselsdorfer_Wagenbau-Fabriks-Gesellschaft

So if it has a Tatra Logo, then it is after WW1. If it is a Nesselsdorfer truck, then it may be WW1.

Attached is a listing of lorry types used by the KuK mobile heavy artillery in the last half of the war.  This vehicle manufacturer does not appear; which suggests it wasn't used in this capacity.  Oddly, other 3 ton lorry manufactures do, however.

Would you share the name of the book where you found this information?  Getting dimensions (wheelbase, wheel size, capacity, hp) for German, AH, Italian, and French vehicles is difficult and I'm looking for all available sources.

Now available at €65 plus shipping. There are both Tatra and Nesseldorf decals on the decal sheet, and what looks to be a small round logo moulded at the top of the radiator grille surround.

Please see attached pics of similar kraftwagen.  Note the headlight is recessed on 2nd example.  Can not make out the manufactures emblem on radiator.
