A7V interior colors
Permalink Closed

Can anyone out there help out with any info regarding the interior colors of the A7V. I`ve seen pictures of the chassis without the hull.It seems to me that the steering compartment and gun mount etc  are not painted in white which would have been logical . I guess at least the inside of the hull must have been in a bright color to lighten up the soroundings.

Certainly not white, you could read chalk inscriptions on the interior walls of the A7V and also in the driver/commonder compartment. But which colour? My guess would be a medium grey - but it's only a guess.

The new Osprey-booklet by Zaloga on German WW1 Panzers states that the interior colors "depended largely on the supplier, with some components arriving in a greenish shade of field grey".

I've seen the rebuilt "Wotan " in Munster Germany 2 years ago and it was painted in a very light colour. (the interior)  .I will search for a few old pics I've taken at the museum.
