Stumbled across this site on Schutztruppen uniforms:

http://www.deutsche-schutzgebiete.de/uniformen_der_schutztruppen.html

A big site with some apparently genuine colour photos.

The very one, Phillipo. It's a nice idea. The inaccuracy of the puttees on the Airfix Japanese is to our advantage. They can also be turned into troops for the western Front.
