As far i know, your pic shows a FT17 radio preserved in a museeum near Thionville. Definitvely not a retracked FT 17 but an ad hoc adaptation for towing purpose. At the beginning of the 30s, the french headquarter choose to use old FT 17 hulls (without motor) to fill the gaps in the Maginot line. Most of them was TSF tanks intended to be used as observation post and some other were turreted tank (Riebel MG armed) used as strongpoints. The tank's hulls was supposed to be towed on place to be enclosed in concrete pillboxes. Many of those adaptations were eventually built in the 6 and 20 military districts (in the moselle area and around the city of Metz) Some are know preserved in the Maginot line museeum and the TSF Renault you can see at the Tank museeum of Saumur comes from such a pillbox. some usefull info could be found in the old VMI, vol19, 1987.
