Now it's possible to donate

It has long possible to donate to the upkeep of this Forum, to keep it free of ads and to give us a number of extra functions. And it has actually been kept going by these donations, that go directly to the Forum providers, Sparklit.

Now the same thing is possible for the website itself (via Paypal - see this page:

I have kept "Landships" running for over six years now, and it has really been gathering momentum, not least because of all super contributions, in many cases coming from people on this very Forum!

It's an exaggeration to say that the site has been victim to it's own success, but what happened two months ago was that "Landships" hit the upper limit when it came to hosted web hotel space. So I had to upgrade the subscription, to a higher level. The *upside* to this, is that we don't longer have to fear to run out of web space - not for years anyway. The downside, is that this new level is a bit more expensive than the old one.

Now this is not alarmist gripe: the future of "Landships" is NOT threatened. But the bill has indeed been upped a bit. That's why I have opened the possibility for anyone willing, to donate to the upkeep of Landships as well. Any amount there goes to me, and helps to pay for the site. (To this end I have also started with some, hopefully, relevant ads, something you probably all seen.)

I think that all you guys active on the Forum are already chipping in, just by being just that, active on the Forum, that is. So please please don't feel I'm leaning on anyone. This is not a tax. To repeat myself: the future of "Landships" is NOT threatened. But if any of you suddenly discover yourself being in possession of sudden wealth, and feeling clueless as how to get rid of it, sending a fiver to "Landships" can't be bad.
