Unditching beam rails
Permalink

Hi all,

I want to put an unditching beam on a 1/35th scale mark IV I'm building, and don't have much information on how the rails were mounted to the roof.  I've got good photos of the mounting points at front and rear, but nothing very helpful for the roof mountings.  Can anyone help with a photo?

thanks,

Dave

There are a few photos in the Mk IV walkaround area of the main Landships site. The ones of the Brussels Mk IV "Lodestar III" would appear to be what you need. I've drawn up a pair of sketches based on these photos to show the individual parts. No scale to the drawings but it should show how it all fits together. These sketches are of the starboard side; just flip them to get port.

I thought it might be best if I attached a sketch showing it assembled. The "rivets" holding it all together are probably really nuts and bolts

Thanks Mark, very kind of you - and astute to know that I would need the sketch showing the assembled bracket!
