Rather startled to discover these pics of Belgian troops, apparently in the winter of 1916-17, wearing Italian Farina body armour and helmets.

Nothing's ever that simple. Another source now says that a few were trialed in August 1918, but not pusued. I'm also not certain that the man aiming the rifle hasn't got the helmet on back-to-front.
