Gentlemen, I will greatly appreciate information on how to convert ( what the differences are?) a WW2 german infantry greatcoat/trenchcoat to the WW1 version. Thank you in advance EDUARDO MAMORETTI
Eduardo, I do not know the differences between WWI and WW2 greatcoats, but if you are interested, I will do some scans for you. I have a very good book "Bayrisches Armeemuseum Ingolstadt, Die deutsche Armee im ersten Weltkrieg" with hundreds of photographs. Saludos Peter

Eduardo - this is from WWI Infantry by Laurent Mirouze.
Text reads: M1915 greatcoat in field grey, the large fall collar faced with green, as on the Bluse. It fastened with 6 large uniform buttons and had two large, flapped pockets set in the sides at a slant. Although often sewn down, the shoulder straps were officially detachable and bore the same white infantry piping and red unit number or monogram as on the Bluse.
As you can see, it's single-breasted but with a very wide fly front, giving it a double-breasted appearance.
If you're working in 1/72 and can get hold of some Revell Napoleonic French Grenadiers, they make a decent basis for a greatcoated German; a head swap, remove the epaulettes, cross-belts, and the outer row of buttons, and remove or modify the pack, and you've got start. Quite a lot of paring required. They look great with a Pickelhaube.

Peter & James; I greatly appreciate your propositions as well as suggestions You offers. The images are a very good start, seems that one has not a lot of work to do but to reduce the long of the coat itself ( the WW1 seems shorter , or it´s me?). If Peter can add just one image specially form the chest and collar it should be enough for my project, which involves this kind of conversion. Thank You a lot, EDUARDO
