Lincoln produced machines

Hello all,

Some of you will already be aware of my interest in "tank week" and "presentation" tanks of WW1.

In addition I have a keen interest in those machines that were manufactured here in Lincoln. Mk I tanks with production numbers 739 - 775; Mk II's with production numbers 776 - 800 and Mk IV's with production numbers 2300-2400 were produced by Fosters of Lincoln. Again, some of you will be aware I am trying to compile a database of the issue/movements/outcome of these machines.  Thus far I have merged the information to be found in Pidgeons book, The Tanks at Flers, in the Battle Ground urope Book for Bullecourt and in the book of Philippe Gorczyinski, Following The Tanks.  There are still large gaps and the resources mentioned also show inconsistancies.

I hope that some of you out there may be able to provide me with any further information on these Lincoln machines with, if possible photos of them.

Here's hoping and wishing you all the very best for 2008

Thanks

Tanks3

Hello Alwyn,

A database will be nice , but if you can dig out some copys of blueprints from these tanks,
i think some of the boys here will serve you with plum-pudding to the end of your life !wink

best regards

Gerd
