While browsing thru Google Books looking for info on WW1, I came across a short article (The Panzerkraftwagen - A German Version of the Tank) in the Journal of the American Field Artillery, Vol 49, 1918 describing the examination of the first captured A7V. Not too much that we don't know, but I'll try and attach the three pictures of Elfriede shown. I enhanced them as best I could.
The middle picture seems to have been retouched. The commanders hatch looks different from other photos of the same area. Also, the faint cross on the forward louvers is missing.
P.S.: Actually, I think I can see the cross. Really faint but I think it is there.
