Is This The Lewis?

Stumbled on this in the New York Times Archive, August 20th, 1912.

Brussels: Experiments with a quick-firing aeroplane gun of American invention have just been made at the military aerodrome as Brasschaet. The gun enables airmen to defend themselves from land attacks and hostile aeroplanes. It weighs 25 pounds and fires 500 shots a minute.

This sounds to me like the Lewis. If so, it lends weight to our previous theory that the Lewis was originally seen as an aircraft gun rather than an infantry weapon.

The article that follows is also of interest, concerning the gift of a diplodocus to Kaiser Wilhelm II.
