Maxims in british service

Hello everybody,

I´ve got some questions about the Maxim MG in british service. Was the british Maxims in use in 1916? Can anyone give info about tripods/mounts?:

What about the water-cooling equipment and isolation cover wrapped around the barrel water jacket, as seen in these pics?:

I would greatly appreciate any info.
Thanks in advance.

Lots of info + links here: http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t17309.html

Maxim adopted in 1893. Vickers officially adopted in 1912, but many Maxims still in service and kept on for War duties. Doubtful for 1916, by which time the Lewis had changed MG organisation.
