Hi fellow members,
A great site you have here, with some very good topics, congrats.
Being an ex-tankie my main interest is of course tanks, with a fairly recently found love of the A7V.
At the moment I'm playing catch up on this subject but in time I hope to be more helpful.

   Hello and Welcome to the Landships forum. There is a lot of great people on this site, that are well versed in The First World War, if you have any questions in your new found interest on the A7V, ask.  We have the honor of having one of the for-most authorities on the A7V and co-author of the amazing book: The German A7V Tank and the Captured British Mark IV Tanks of World War I; Rainer Strasheim as a member. By the way if you do not have this book, buy it

How about a little information about your "ex-tankie" days, what wonderful machines have you had the privilege of being around?

Yes, welcome aboard! I myself is an ex-artilleryman, and tend to drift towards that subject. Tanks I don't really, really understand, so it's good to have a tank-pro on the premises!

Hi guys,
Thanks very much for the warm welcome!
Max and Rainer's book is on the way, as is the Osprey. Urpanzer to Leo 2 I bought here locally in town so It's the one I am currently reading as time allows.

I've noticed that there are many experts on the forum and I am still reading the various topics and articles on the site with interest.

"Sigh" yes those good ole Tankie days Tim.
Well my dad served on Comets and Centurians, my uncle on Centurians and Chieftains and I was CVR trained, Scorpion and Scimitar, being in a Recce Regiment. So Tanks are a family thing.
I drove my first tank at 11 years of age, a Chieftain.
Various other vehicles we used, or I drove were, Stalwart, Ferret, Saracen, Fox Spartan & 432's.

Welcome aboard.

For my sins I am into most things tankie but have a passion for WW1. I am presently researching the MK I, MK II and MKIV tanks manufactured by William Fosters of Lincoln. I see you have Max and Rainers book on the way to you and wondered if you might help me. I don't have this publication but see it covers the captured MKIV british tanks. When you are going through the book, if you find there are any details about MKIV tanks with a production number between 2300 -2400, could you let me have the details?

There are some very nice photos in that collection, is it your web site?
If so have they all been identified?
I think the only ones I have seen before are the two Freikorps vehicles, the appell photo and the one of "Bulle" which in fact I posted in the "Adalbert" thread after a rather darker version of the same photo was shown.
If they are not yours I will drop Mario a line and ask if it was ok to use it, they seem to be originals.
