Hi everyone,

I've been building my armo 1/35 austin-kegresse for quite some time now and its ready to be painted. The problem is that I can't quite figure what the base color was.

Books such as osprey state that it was grey, but the color photos from 1939 show a light fieldgrau type color. I took black and white photos of different colors and tried to match them to the photo, and it seems that a light green is a closer fit then grey.

I've attached a photo of the armored car that I am building and the color picture of a kegresse from 1939, and maybe someone on the forum knows what the original color was without any guess work.

Thanks

Normal Austin Kègresse "Ukrainer" must be green. Many people from later-USSR maked pictures in gray. Noboby know the colour exactly no

This may be from the wrong army, but it looks more exciting than grey!

Hallo Everybody !

Your first photo: It had been taken in Polish-Soviet war 19-20 Polish Army captured then 2 soviet armored cars - half-track Austin -Kegresse ( first - 21.03.1920, second - 26.04.1920). Typical for this armored cars are incriptions with red letters in grey background.
Next photos presents a monument of armored car in polish colour (photo taken in October 1939).
More informations about it you can find in book: "Armored Units of the Russian Civil War", Osprey.
Mr philthydirtyanimal in Your photo we can see camouflage of half-track Austin -Kegresse in Red Army at time 1922.
Yours.
