May I praise you on the very interesting and informative website of yours I always check it out on a regular basis.
The reason I am writing to you is to enquire into the possibility of help requiring measurements to the French Schneider CA tank. I run the Jon Smith Modellbau firm here in Germany and up to now have had a good response to the WW1 figures in both the 1/32^nd & 1/15^th scales over the past 10 years or so.
For some time I have been looking into the idea of producing a WW1 armoured vehicle in 1/15^th scale and have decided on the Schneider. I already have enough photo material through the Internet / various books etc. What I am really missing are the measurements of the vehicle itself (and individual parts of the vehicle).
Would you be able to, or know of anybody who could supply measurements7 help out maybe someone at the/ Musée des blindés/ in France? I gather that the manufactures of this tank, the Schneider works at Le Creusot no longer exist.
Of cause I can off the person involved an example tank when this project is completed.
I have some of Jon's work in 1/32 , and can tell you they are superb. His sculpting is likely the best I've seen. If he were to create a 1/16 tank, It would far surpass anything out there today.
Hi Jon, just a quick note that might help, you could try Hubert Cance at www.hubertcance.com for some scale drawings, I know that he does 1/35th scale, he might do bigger?
