The Austin all going well should be out in a few months depending on the Castors(!!) at the same time will be a MarkV1 ambulance. The Clyno later this year. If all goes well the 18pdr and the 4.5 ins Howitzer plus limbers will be released after the Austin.
May I thank those people on the Forum for the help they gave with the queries for the Austin. The French figures are out do you want a pic of the masters.

Many thanks again.

Hello, Barry!

I'd like to see the French. I'm sure loads of people would. They're just shy.

Last week at Trucks 'n Tracks in Folkestone, I bought some sets of French figures; marching infantry, relaxing infantry and tank crew in overalls. These are just perfect and will go fine with the Peugeot and Renault AC's I have on the bench.

Can't wait to get my hands on some Austins! Will they be both 2nd and 3rd series? I'm certainly going to issue some decals for the Austin in due time.

all the best,
Michel Boer

The Austin will be the final series as used by the British but apparently some were used by the Reds there will also be parts for the Indian pattern one with disc wheels and NAP tyres and the vickers machine gun.

The figures can be bought directly from me or from Ifan at Blitzcreig. Once I have the website up and running I will be using Paypal.

Out of interest, what 'sort' of 18 pounder is it? I've seen about three different types of recoil cylinder (if that's the correct name for the thing above the barrel). One that stretches almost to the end of the barrel, one shorter, and one with a sort of armoured cover at the front

Rob, the 'recoil cylinder' is called the recuperator. I think it was filled with a very thick oil and there was a piston attached to the barrel that ran inside the recuperator, hence dampening and absorbing the recoil.

The 'sort of armoured cover at the front' is probably an oil reservoir that topped up the oil in the recuperator.
