Mark IV - the 'oles?

I'm going to build the 1/72 Emhar Mk IV male - with matador sponsons and tracks. I've seen various places on the web mention the two holes in the rear horns which are not on the kit and I've found the thread on this site which shows where they should go nicely.

I can't find a picture of a 'real' Mk IV which shows them, I don't think they're in any of the photos in the Ospray book, and of course when I was photographing the one in Bovingdon museum a couple of months ago I didn't photograph that bit...

Does anybody have a photo which shows them well, and, err, what were they for?

They're definitely mud chutes and the same as on the Mk I - III.
