Can anyone tell me anything about this weapon which was apparantly supplied to the Turkish Army......

"Maxim light machine guns (M1908) had a caliber of 7.92 mm and they weighed 14.6 kg. They had an automatic rotating bolt fed by a 50-round drum."

I guess it should be German Machin Gun 08/15. Germany supplied a lot of weapons to their Turkish allies. Especially the assault troops were equiped nearly like German assault troops on the western front.

I can't say I can take it all in, but the answer might be in there.

This is what Centurion had to say on the subject:

Dreyse MG12: Concurrent with the Bergmann MG15. Only limited production. Several thousand made. Probably slightly earlier than the Bergman, water cooled on a light weight tripod based on a 1911 commercial design. Phased out in 1916 and nearly all stocks passed to the Turkish army in Mesopotamia. A v small number appear to have been put back into service on the western front in 1918

DREYSE ARE MODELL 15 AND PROBABLY MODELL 1917
