Hi all. I´mmodelling R.P.M.'s 1/35 Renault FT and want to paint a disruptive camouflage of green and brown over sand. The question is ¿what kind of color was the internal side of the suspension? ¿was it the standard camouflage or not? ¿or the normal coating that the Renaults were given at the factory (dark green)? ¿or only sand, with no brown/green?

Hi. Green color or sand. I believe that the standard to camouflage not used age in the internal side of the suspension. The tanks of the WWII and the current ones also use the standard to camouflage only in the external parts.
I'm very dubious about the use of any sand color on WW1 french AFVs. As far I know, the FT17s was more likly factory painted in grey color. I havn't seen a lot of pics to suggest any camo applied in the factory as it was done for the St Chamond. So the best color for the internal parts of the suspension would : mud and dust!
