U.S. Tank Helmet plus Mobile Shields

Came across a book called Helmets and Body Armor in Modern Warfare by Bashford Dean. He was an American artist who conducted trials to come up with a better helmet than the M1917.

Amongst the many interesting items is this U.S. Tanker's helmet with additional protection from splash. The grab is not v good - it's from an online version that can be seen here:

There are also several types of Infantry Shield dating, surprisingly, from after the appearance of the Tank. I'll try to get hold of a better copy and report back.

The pic on the left is from Treat 'Em Rough and the other is from the Profile, obviously based on it. Haven't yet found a pic of the skull of the helmet.
