I shan't spoil the ending, but you get a good view of the Mk IV replica. It puts in an appearance at about 4'40". The props men seem to have confused British and French markings.

We also very nearly learn what a Scotsman wears under his kilt.

Hi James...
A2 Has a grill on the right side rear and the left hand sponson seems to be male....

I think its possible to buy this film on DVD....

It's arrived.

There's a second sequence, supposedly at Cambrai. I think we've discussed it before, but the replica appears as Mary on one side and Bobby on the other, female and male respectively, with the oversize unditching beam. The tracks are clearly giant Airfix jobs, made of rubber. It has a rear turret and a radiator grille, much like a Mk V so not right for Cambrai, but a pretty decent attempt. So convincing, in fact, that it crops up in a surprising number of films and documentaries as the real thing. It's clearly fooled the BBC more than once, and, even more surprisingly, PDA has indeed included it in his collection.

The copy I've got has been remastered, apparently from several different fragments, and the picture and sound quality are excellent (better than All Quiet). Includes shots of horse-drawn artillery and Daimler-Marienfelde lorries. The battle scenes are ideal for film documentaries, very convincing and sharp.

I'd do something technical with it if I had the faintest idea where to begin.
