Would also suit my garden very well.

Where's that Sandy? Wouldn't mind taking a look one day.

In Bonds Lane Greenvale, some lucky fellow has what looks to be a WW2 era LVT guarding his front gates. I'd prefer a MkIV 'Male' personally, but beggars can't be choosers wink

Elizabeth Street, Rosebud, Victoria. You can't miss it.

Great. Will try to get down there after Christmas. Thanks again for the 'heads up'.

Hi Brett,

It seems that you can move around a bit in Melbourne. I am wondering whether you can do me a favour. My health has packed it in again and I have difficulty in getting out. What is needed are photographs of the enormous long range gun in Caribbean Gardens Scoresby. Entrance is either off Stud Road or Ferntree Gully Road. The Gardens are only open WED - FRID - SUN. The gun is easily seen - near the lake. If it is convenient would you mind photographing it and posting the images on this site and / or sending them to me. They need to be good shots with a minimal amount of distracting background and there needs to be closeups of the markings, numbers etc.

Additionally, and I'm probably pushing my luck here, but there is a 150mm howitzer in Fitzroy / Collingwood in a public garden. I had a photograph and the location sent to me by the Fitzroy Historical Society but it has been lost. I have asked them again today but if you could photograph this gun it would be really appreciated. It is quite a surprise weapon in that I have found very little reference to it yet it is in the heart of Melbourne.

These requests may be imposing on you too much in which case please just let it pass but if you could get around to photographing these guns it would be really great.

If it is OK I'll advise of my email address etc.

Regards, Geoff.

Geoff,

I've got a good mate in Scoresby, it'll be an excuse to go visit him. I'm working every day through to New Years Day, but I'll endeavour to get something for you sooner rather than later.

Collingwood / Fitzroy is close too. Shouldn't be too much of a drama.

Cheers,

Brett
