Bonjour,

This US patent is also in British patent (with 15 pages) from Europeen Patent Office esp@cenet :

Improvements in Automobile Vehicles for Military Purposes. n° GB190703310 A

And some other drawings of the cupola in a second patent from the Etablissement Automobiles Charron Girardot :

Improvements in Protecting Shields or Cupolas for Light Ordnance.  n° GB190703309 A

Those are great, Ironsides. With those it might be possible to detail the existing Charron models (if they need it) and scratch build the Simms.

I wonder if the first armoured touring cars of Samson's RNAS section were patented? If so, they might provide a plan for scratch building; something Rob was asking after in another thread.

Thanks.

Hi PDA, my thoughts exactly I rather like the Simms(er not the PC game), also the imformation contained can lead to many other finds of usefull documents credited to individuals Ive never heard off, who werent famous enough to get their own mention..  Ive found much additional info by following up on these, it takes time though.. these two came up by chance connected with a whole load of patents on armour manufacturing techniques... in other words I was'nt actively looking for them...

Tanker thanks for the info unfortunatly at the moment I find the EPO etc to be really user unfriendly, as opposed to Google patents which is really easy... I will have to persevere I suppose....

Bonsoir,

I agree you !
It's perhaps very difficult to found words, names or dates for a good result. But very often, you have US, British and French patents together for the same équipment.

Which brings us nicely back to a thread James started (or contributed to?). A thread the search engine has kindly forgotten.
