I am placing this post on behalf of the Friends of The Lincoln Tank. They are currently carrying out in depth research on tank 799 which was a Lincoln machine and which was knocked at at the first battle of Bullecourt.
What they need is someone with some information about the excavation of tank 799. They need to establish if the spoils of the dig were in fact shared between Mr. Latelle in Bullecourt and the proprietor of Le Tommy in Posieres. I know this machine repeatedly comes up for discussion and I wonder if there is anyone out there at the time 799 was recovered.
I know its a long shot but nothing ventured nothing gained
