Hello,

It is the "10,5-cm leichte Feldhaubitze 98", this model was modified in 1909.
Some old "10,5-cm l.F.H 98" were still in service in 1914 but near all were modified as "10,5-cm leichte Feldhaubitze 98/09".

I think it's more likely to be the Krupp 10.5cm M1892 howitzer. The barrel on the M1898 and M1909 were identical and different from the image. The carriage appears to have similarities with the Krupp C73 9cm guns.

Hi all

I would agree with ALVF (bonjour Guy !). That howitzer is the German 10.5cm lFH 98. There is one such surviving gun in Pozieres, and I had the opportunity to see it twice, take pictures, and read the markings.

"Fat Frank", where is this gun located ?

I had thought this gun was an M1892 howitzer but now agree it's an M1898.

I don't know if Frank reads this forum very much - the gun is in South Africa undergoing conservation/restoration. It was captured from German forces in South-West Africa in 1915.
