I'd be delighted to hear from anyone able to identify this tank for me? Perhaps a forum member from eastern Europe can help?

The tank is a Mark V in service with the White Russian army during the Russian Civil War, with one British soldier in evidence. Other than that I have no information.

Thanks in advance.

Gwyn

Tank "General Drozdovskiy", named for Mikhail Gordeevich Drozdovskiy (1881-1919). Colonel of Russian Imperial Army During the WWI served on Romanian front. After the October revolution in Russia formed 1st brigade of Russian voloteers, which passed from Yassy to Novocherkassk and joined to Dobrovolcheskaya Armia (White Volonteers Army). Commander of 3rd Rifle Division. 13.11.1918 was wounded. Since 21.11.1918 - General-major. 14.01.1919 M.Drozdovskiy dead because of blood poisoning (or may be was poisoned by spy).3rd Rifle Division was renamed as Drozdovskaya.

I think that this tank was joined for Drozdovskaya Division. Tanks ofDrozdovskaya Division were dropped at sea in Novorossiysk during the evacuation. Some of them were retrieved by Reds and used.

Pictures:Mikhail Gordeevich Drozdovskiy.

Colored scheme from Interus 1:35 kit instruction. A-white; H-red; sligan - white/ Slogan not correct. Penultimate letter "" mast to be "I"

On the tank (same as on Russian Navy) was used Old Slavonic font. Modern analogs:

=G

=E

=N

=E

=R

=A

=L

=D

=R

=O

=Z

=D

=O

=V

=S

=K

=I (but before the revolution used I=I)

=Y

Ah, great, thanks Aleksandr - was wondering about that. Quite a decorative font and important for authentic replication of the era.
