During the civil war in 1918, between january-may, in Finland there were:
8 real armoured trains - used by the Russians and Red Guards. 4 improvised armoured trains - used by the Red Guards. 1 more or less improvised armoured train - used by the White Guards.
Armoured trains of Red Guards:
6 proper armoured trains built in Helsinki during the civil war 2 very improvised armoured trains built in Vyborg during the civil war 2 very much improvised armoured trains built in Tampere during the civil war
Armoured trains of Russians:
2 Russian built heavy armoured trains, armed with two 76 mm guns and Maxim mg's
Armoured train of White Guard:
1 rather improvised armoured train, equipped with some field guns and mg's
Also, the Russian bolsheviks assisted Finnish Red guard by sending some armoured trains from St. Petersburg to Finland time to time.
During the war all, except one, were captured by the White Guards or Germans.
