I read an earlier thread on a scratch built 1/10 Mark I tank model on ebay.de years back. I was was one of those unfortunates that let it slip through my fingers. I saw it, almost bid but then said to myself do I need another project? So I passed only to regret it ever since... My main areas of interest have been WWII era vehicles but I've a growing appreciation of the WWI era as well.
This is my first post here so if this is out of place please point me in the right direction. I've been building and collecting 1/10 scale armor since the mid 1970s but have been interested in armor since the 1960s.

welcome to the forum! This Giesswerk model is impressive, as is its price too! Well, reading their intro one can understand that this model isn't cheap, I guess they are highly professional and made a lot of investments with their CNC mills and brass casting etc. The Ebay model you are referring too is probably that 'famous' aluminium one, the builder replied he was not planning to make another... I don't think your post is out of place here at all, every tip and trick on modelling techniques are very welcome here.
Thank you for your posting, I have been rather busy away from the internet in recent times, and I was unaware of this models existence.
It is a VERY impressive model, but it does have some faults in its details. This is often the problem when building large scale models as the lack information can't be glossed over so easily as it can in small scale.
I must, must, must! get on with my MK1 plans

How time passes. I posted this nearly 10 years ago; I very nearly placed an order for one of these a few years after this post. Other priorities
and my main 1/10 scale armor hobbies took precedence. The web page describing this model has been removed. It was a beauty...
Now I'm sad to say the owner of the company Geisswerk, Martin Schneider passed away last October at 58 years. The armor hobby
has lost an incredible asset for Martin was not only a fine craftsman he was one of the easiest people to work with. Always delivered
when he promised, always delivered first class products. He and his art will be sorely missed.
There is no indication so far that anyone has plans to take up the reins of his company.
