I'm back from the trip! It was really good, and I learnt quite a bit from WWI on it. We visited;
Hill 60 The Somme (Yes, all of it!) Ypres Albert Passchendaele Sanctuary wood Menin Gate Essex Farm Vimy ridge
Cemetaries;
Tynecot A French-British grave/massive memorial that I stupidly forgot the name of. Lots of small cemetaries. Langmarck (German)
And for those with interests outside WWI;
Omaha beach Gold beach Culville cemetary Point du Hoc Caen Pegasus bridge La Cambe cemetary (German) St. Mere Eglise
Now I promised photos, but there was a problem... For some reason, my camera kept running out of batteries, and I went through 4 sets of them, so by the time we got to any of the WWI sites, I pratically had no batteries left, so sadly, I don't have many WWI photos :(. Oh, and despite you much welcomed help, I never visited any model shops in Bruges in the end, because dodgey change lost me 10 euros, () so by the time we got there, I had no money left.
Never-the-less, I really enjoyed myself.
So I am giving a tour, on the forum. See the next articles...
Too bad about the photos. I know it's too late now, but with digital cameras it is a good idea to remove the batteries when you aren't using it. For some cunning reason, the geniuses who design the cameras have made them permanently on, so power is constantly drained from the batteries.
