I just received a lot of information on Mr. Crompton’s Emplacement Destroyers, Pedrail Tanks, Bullock Tanks, and his Killen Strait Tank designs. I am willing to share this information, but I can not post the information I have received due to it being copyrighted. But I can email the information to those that would be interested. If you don’t know Colonel R.E.B. Crompton was a brilliant gentleman, He was in his late 60’s, early 70’s when he was chosen to be one of the Landship Committee’s consultant engineer’s. He designed his first {Landship} On February 25th, 1915. His thoughts and design’s were way out of the box for the apparent slow thinking of the day, concerning tanks. He was later replaced By Albert Stern, due to a personality clash. For a Gentleman at his age to think of such incredible vehicles at the time when the {TANK} was in its infancy in incredible.
I've got a couple of old issues of Tankette with articles on two of Crompton's Emplacement Destroyers, very interesting stuff, and a very interesting, sadly neglected, character.
